Collection: Rita Tucker Creations

I craft jewelry, each piece a unique creation. Currently, I’m moved to craft jewelry and other fun items out of recycled materials. Beverage cans, copper sheets, copper wire, watch parts and broken jewelry pieces such as metal and beads are very fun to incorporate into something new and different.

My favorite process is working with copper. I love to make jewelry using copper enhanced with beverage cans incorporating a variety of techniques such as hammering, etching, bending, stamping and wire wrapping.  All of my copper sheets and wire are recycled leftovers from construction projects which I find mostly at Pacific Recycling.  Scrap wood is also leftovers from construction projects.  Broken jewelry, watches and flatware is discovered at auctions and garage sales.

I use beads (mostly stone or crystal) to accent or highlight the uniqueness of the piece that has been handcrafted. I have handmade the primary focal point of each necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings using a variety of medium, such as metal, wood and glass and a variety of methods. My methods include wood carving, metal smithing, metal etching, fusing glass, enameling, wire weaving, kiln firing precious metal clay, or inlaying tiny tiles and pieces of glass in a mosaic fashion.
